Gain Meaningful Experience

This may vary for individuals, particularly in the current climate. It is important to be flexible and innovative, and to consider the broader perspective.

  • What are some transferable skills that you can cultivate that will be valuable in any internship or job?
  • Highlight your ability to adapt and your aptitude for creative problem-solving.
  • Remember to prioritize ongoing learning and development, even if that does not involve taking courses at IU.

Informational interviews are a great way to learn about a career or industry from someone who is already working in it. These interviews give you the opportunity to ask questions, gain insights, and make valuable connections. It's important to come prepared with thoughtful questions and to be respectful of the interviewee's time. With the right approach, informational interviews can be a valuable tool in your career exploration and networking efforts.
